This is where you can add any Program Changes and Control Changes necessary for your song. 'Next, take that SMF and import it into another DAW like Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live, etc. I found a web page that discusses exporting of midi files from S1 and while the wording there seems a little convoluted, I am getting the idea from what I read that S1 is unable to export a standard midi file with that 'extra' stuff, like control changes and pitch bend! They advise to 'save as a SMF file' then: It looks like these CCs and other non-note midi data are in the Studio One midi track and play back properly through a VI in his rig. Also, on one tune that I did some synth stuff, the pitch bend is missing. The problem is that his midi files seem to contain only notes. At home, I import his audio and midi files into my system and fix all my numerous clams.
He puts the audio files in a Dropbox we share, along with exporting my midi to a midi file.
I record reference keyboard tracks – audio & midi – at his place. I'm working on a CD project with someone that uses PreSonus Studio One.
